This building was built in 1898 by Charles F. Rhode to house the Island City Cigar Factory. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lone Star Lodge was organized many years prior by Jacob Raphael De Cordova vin 1838. This builiding would become one of its many lodges. This building is one of the many surviving Lodges left across the United States. The building was registered with the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
