Abbey of Brittany. Founded in 490 CE by Saint Winwaloe (in French as Saint Guénolé, in Breton as Saint Gwennole, in Picard as Saint Walloy) according to the Scotian Monastic Rule. Later became Benedictine. Pillaged and burned by the Vikings in 913. Ruins remain and can be visited. Later rebuilt, disbanded during the French Revolution.
