The houses in this area were demolished so that the nearby farmers' market could use it as parking. In 2006, it became the proposed site for the RiverGreen Eco Village, a mixed-use development that promised to showcase the latest in environmentally sustainable design. However, the group responsible (PEDCO) was unable to secure financing for the site, and the proposal was cancelled in 2011.

In January 2013, Parcel A was bought by a Victoria developer, Chris Le Fevre, for $4.13 million. His proposed development, called The Banks, will consist of mixed-use buildings between six to eight storeys tall, with commercial space on the ground floor and condominiums above. It was approved by city council in 2013, and construction started in August 2014.
