  This looks like a vector guide for bomb dropping practice. Notice all the 'pock' marks surrounding the central object.

  Yup, sounds about right. Can't tell really, but that might be a F-4 phantom sitting there. Whatever old airplane it is, I'm sure it's had a very, very bad day since this picture was taken.
