Ruthton Wind Farm is located about 3-6 miles southeast of Lake Benton, Minnesota, 5 miles WNW of the town of Ruthton and northeast of the Buffalo Ridge wind farm. Commissioned in 2001, it consists of 24 Vestas V47/660 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 15.84 MW.
Although it was developed as one wind farm, it consists of 8 groups of 3 turbines which are registered with different owners and different names. The names are: Spartan Hills, Soliloquoy Ridge, Florence Hills, Hope Creek, Hadley Ridge, Ruthton Ridge 1, Ruthton Ridge 2 and Winter's Spawn.
