Alexander Blok (1880-1921), a poet during the symbolism movement. Writers of this period tried to combine romanticism with realism in a mystical format. His early themes depicted Russia's sad state, focusing on the future. As the Communist Revolution progressed, these poor romantic images were replaced by ones of war and destruction.
