Residence built c. 1900 in the Colonial style for John Bancroft, Jr {industrialist} on four acres of land. Bancroft was the president of the Joseph Bancroft & Sons Co. cotton manufacturer. Bancroft Lane was named in honor of the family's estate.

It was demolished in August of 2019.
