The PESRL (Plantas Eólicas, Sociedad de Responsibilidad Limitada) wind farm is also variously known as "Arenal", "Western Lake Arenal", and "Tilaran PESA". It is located about xx km from the northwestern shore of Lake Tilaran, about xx km north of Tilaran, in the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It was commissioned in 1996 with 58 Kenetech KVS-33 wind turbines, but is now referred to as having 57 turbines (perhaps one has failed and is not worth repairing). The power rating of each turbine is also not clear, either 360-kW or 410-kW, which gives the whole wind farm a nominal capacity of either about 20 or 24 MW.
It is noteworthy that when the Altamira wind farm was built in the mid-201x's, they wanted to erect two of their turbines in an area already occupied by two of the PESRL turbines. As a result the two original turbines were moved/re-erected in a different location. These two are now the two northernmost turbines in the south-central 'lobe'.
