This place is known as “Pendharyancha Thana” or “Dacoit’s Station”. During Gond – Bhosale period, these Dacoits and looters were used to serve as part of army. They were the mercenaries loyal to the paymaster. There are references available about these Pendhari people during Shrimant Appasaheb Bhosale, such as the name, area, their level in the army etc. But such stations are present in ample places in North-South region of Satpuda Mountain. They qualify as a post but not as full fledged fort. But such posts played crucial roles in close-call battle situations.
