Estate residence designed c. 1916 in the Mediterranean Villa style on 19 acres of land by Harrie T. Lindeberg for Nelson Doubleday, Sr {publisher}. Doubleday was the chairman of the board of Doubleday & Co. of Garden City publishing company. Penrose V. Stout designed the garage and cottage and Olmsted did landscaping from 1919-1935. Nelson's father resided at "New House" in Lattingtown and "Effendi Hill" in Mill Neck; his sister resided at "Pepperidge Point" in Mill Neck. The home underwent restoration and sympathetic alterations in 2014 by Platt Byard Dovell White Architects with EverGreene Architectural Arts.
