The sculptural composition Diana - the goddess of the hunt is located on Saedinenie Square (formerly Red Square). It was created in 2005 by Momchil Mirchev - a young sculptor from Sofia, according to whom the composition represents a modern interpretation of one of the most beautiful plots in ancient mythology, which carries within itself the charm of the beauty of the curves, the strength and the life that flows from the human body on the one hand, and the motion and primal power which characterizes the figure of the beast on the other. The sculpture was placed in the Sevastopol Public Garden from its creation until 2020, when it was stolen, leaving only the lion of the composition in its old place. Then the police arrested a 40-year-old man for damaging the plastic and stealing the figure of the goddess Diana.
The statue is 2.15 m high, it is a harmoniously built composition forming a triangle with a base formed by the dramatic yet smoothly curved body of a lion fighting for its life, the two sides of the triangle being structured by the distinct anatomy of the goddess holding a spear.
