UHD's One Main Building was constructed in 1929 on the banks of White Oak Bayou and Buffalo Bayou. It was known as the Merchants and Manufacturers Building and served the city for decades as a hub for commerce and manufacturing. It is listed in the National Register of Historical Places. It is the hub of UHD's Downtown campus.
