Cetate Hill

 hill, archaeological site, green area

Cetate Hill (literally Fortress Hill), with an altitude of 712 meters, on the plateau of which the remains of a Bronze Age dwelling (Wietenberg Culture, 2200–1600/1500 BCE) have been found archaeologically, a settlement superimposed much later by a medieval fortress, built in the 13th century and seems abandoned at the end of the 14th century or during the 15th century.
The remains of the fortress were discovered in 1963-65. The fortress was strongly fortified, with 1.40 meter thick stone walls and a defense ditch. The length of the fortress wall was 260 meters, of which 175 meters are elongated to the west, an extension that is separated by a wall that divides the fortress into two enclosures.
The access to the remains of the fortress is poorly marked (on the western slope of the hill), the area is extremely little visited, on the plateau all that can be seen on the surface from the fortress, is a remnant of stone wall (east side of the fortress) and earth waves (practically ruins of earth-covered walls and lots of vegetation).
