Built as the Field Building in 1934, the 535-foot, 45-story building is one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in Chicago. It was later known as the LaSalle Bank Building and housed the bank's headquarters. In May 2008, it was renamed the Bank of America Building when BofA completed its purchase of LaSalle. It shares this name with the other Bank of America Building one block south which previously was the headquarters of Continental Illinois Bank.
