The foundation of this school was laid in 1922 as a Middle School. It was upgrade to district board high school in 1945 and secondary classes were started in the same year. It was nationalized by the GOVT in 1960 and given name as "GOVT High School School KHEWRA". It is very old institution. It produced great educatinist, Doctors, Army Officers, Engineers and International Hocky Players.

    High School Khewra is a greatest educational School. It is honour for me I passed matric examination from Khewra High School during the year 1980, when my honourable Headmaster Haji Fateh Muhammad Naseem headed the School. I also remember my honourable Master Qazi Sahib as well as and Shoukat Sahib during the said period of my study in Khewra.

Sir Shoukat Sir Sultan Sir Asif Kareem Sir Khan Sir Naqvi Sir Akram was my respected teachers while Abbas Tahwar Hashmi Akbar Khattak Niazi and others were my class fellows. waiting for other people

    I have done my matriculation in 1961 from this esteemed School which was being run at that time under the supervision of our honorabloe Head master mr Qadir Bakhsh who was tru copy of our beloved leader Quaide azam he used to weear the same dress and sherwani with jinnah cap.he was very strict. he was a man of principal. he used to teach English to their students. whereever these student went in different parts of the work their employer were praising their teaching to their stuents. i was having my good colleagues such as Mr Ain Mr Nausherwan, Mr Mahfouz, Mr Basharat Mr Mushtaq Mr Sherdil Hassan Akhtar,Mr Sharif and Misri khan Mr Saadi Mr Chiragh din Malik Azam Malik Asghar etc I remember them just like yesterday.
