The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad completed their mainline from Chicago to Seattle during 1909. The line passed to the south of Rosalia on these bridges, which spanned Great Northern and Northern Pacific rail lines. The Northern Pacific rail line remains in use by the Palouse River and Coulee City RR. The CMSP&P planned to electrify this line, and substation 17 would have been in Rosalia. The line through here was abandoned during March 1980.
