The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad completed their mainline from Chicago to Seattle during 1909. 440 miles from Harlowton, MT, to Avery, ID, were electrified, powered by 14 substations. The electric operations ended during June 1974, and the line through here was abandoned during March 1980.
