One 12" disappearing carriage gun and one 12" barbette carriage gun were mounted here from 1906 to 1943.

Battery Huger was named on December 27, 1904 in honor of Brevet Major General Isaac Huger, Continental Army (brigadier general. Continental Army), who served with distinction during the Revolutionary war, and who died October 17, 1797.
