The Square includes Mananchira (the Pond), Mananchira maidan and Old Krishanamenon part which has the wonderful Musical fountain in it.
This green portion in the city is the main venue for families to spent a wonderful evening. asily accessible to buses, the central library and the police commissioners office make this an ideal place for a nice evening.

Mananchira Square named after the pond Mananchira about a square-kilometre in area situated in the heart of the city. It is named after Manadevan the erstwhile ruler of Zamoothiri Kingdom, known as Mana-devan's Chira(Pond) and later transformed to Mana-an-Chira.


Calicut,(Kozhokode) is a city in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It is the third largest city in Kerala and the headquarters of Kozhikode district. Kozhikode was once the capital of an independent kingdom, and later of the erstwhile Malabar District.
