Once had a 17-story building constructed in 1927 as home of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and featured exterior decoration depicting livestock, eggs and merchants selling goods. The exchange located to larger quarters near Union Station in 1972 and the building was demolished in 2002. The site remains undeveloped since 2007.
Lot was used as base camp by film crew with the Batman movie, 2007.
