Relocated from 730 College Drive (original address 310 Holiday Avenue until 2005, when the street name and addressing system was changed) in July 2012. The organization was established in 1969 through a merger of the American Carpet Institute and the Tufted Textile Manufacturers' Association.

At Carpet and Rug Institute, our purpose is to educate consumers, commercial stakeholders and the industry about carpet and rugs. From health benefits and environmental efforts to trends and advice, we are here to inform our members and their customers. CRI initiatives help protect air quality, carpet's lifespan and lead to smarter buying decisions on cleaners and equipment.
