tell (mound), ancient ruins
Also known as Dasht Halqeh, this well-defined fortified site was apparently founded in the Parthian (Arsacid) period, but its historical name remains unknown. The ancient and medieval city was protected by a double wall, and has a citadel mound in the eastern corner.
