The first setting-up of a station of rescue to Groix dates 1866. The second one takes place in 1890-1891 on the quay of Port - Tudy, more appropriate in the launch of the boat. The house-shelter is built by the department of civil engineering and enlarged in 1933 for the welcome of a new boat. In 1943, the occupant begins to demolish the house-shelter, closed down for military reasons then sold as the warehouse to the Regional Box of the maritime Credit of Morbihan and the Loire and finally to a private individual. By 1950, the vice - admiral Lucien Lacaze, president of the central Company of rescue of the castaways, requests the competition of the department of civil engineering for a reconstruction. The station of Groix is a part of the most requested with many taken out to his/her credit in 2015, most being the evacuations
