207-foot, 20-story early-modern residential building completed in 1954. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, it is also known as Monterey at Park. It is clad in beige brick to match Roth's earlier design at the adjoining 20 Park Avenue to the south. The symmetrical east facade is 11 bays wide, with the north facade spanning seven bays. The five middle bays on the avenue are recessed, with the three end bays on each side projecting forward at an angle. The ground floor has a low, grey granite water table, except at the middle bays to the left of the main entrance; these are faced in dark-grey stone, with a band of six metal-framed windows and a secondary door. The main entrance has a rounded canvas canopy extending out over the sidewalk. The outer bays at the south end have four square, 2-over-2 windows and a service door at the far south end. The outer bays at the north end also have four square windows, with a service door in the middle of them.
Above the ground floor each bay has triple-windows with aluminum frames; those at the bays bordering the recessed center section have an extra, narrow, inner pane that follows the angle back to the center section. The outer bays set back above the 14th floor, and the full facade sets back above the 16th floor, with angled sides at the center section. Additional setbacks occur at the 18th & 19th floors, with metal railings at the terraces created by the various setbacks. A large, cube-shaped, brick mechanical housing tops the roof.
On the north facade, the windows from the north of the east elevation wrap around the corner for one pane, with the rest of the north-elevation bays grouped toward the west. They consist of four center bays in a slightly-recessed section (with angled sides), each with triple-windows, two bays of square, 2-over-2 windows to the left of the center section, and a bay of triple-windows to the right of the center section. At each floor, the piers between the two center bays have brick banding. The ground floor has two more service entrances, three square 2-over-2 windows, and a parking garage entrance at the west end. The outer bays on this facade also set back above the 14th floor, and the full floors set back above the 16th, 18th & 19th floors. Both facades are dotted with protruding air-conditioning units.
The western elevation has recessed end bays with square, 2-over-2 windows, and a projecting center section with single- and triple-windows that sets back above the 11th floor. The building contains 241 apartment units. The ground floor also houses a few medical offices.
