  • This is one of the most spectacular swimming spots in the country. The pool is actually the bed of Barton Creek, dammed at both ends to create a swimming pool, and fed by a large spring near the low diving board. The spring keeps the pool temperature cold and refreshing in the summer. A few hearty Austinites also say it keeps the water warm enough for lap swimming in the winter. The pool bottom and cliffs are the natural limestone formations typical of the area. There is plenty of grass-covered space for sun bathing. The up-stream end is very shallow allowing children to splash around while the downstream end is about 20 feet deep with fish and aquatic plants. As a child, we spent the summer snorkeling there. Do not miss this if you are in Austin in the Summer!
  • Whoa...I want to go there.
