On the Beverweerd estate in Werkhoven is a white remembrance cross erected for Allied pilot Régis Charles Deleuze who was shot down on 25/02/1945.
First he was buried on the General Cemetery of Werkhoven, but later on his body was transported to the Communal Cemetery of Brussels in Evere where his grandparents lived.
The first memorial was placed in 1945, the current marble cross is placed in 1990.
