Formerly New Life Music Shop until 2010, it was also an affiliate of New Life Record Shop, located just next door from here. The current music store was opened on December 9, 2011 by company president Shane Radtke, although the company was originally started in Sugar Grove, Illinois in suburban Chicago in 2003 after he became a successful national service manager/technician for Gibson guitars and Trace Elliot bass amplifiers.

On October 22, 2014, the 80-year-old guitarist Bob Wood from Nashville walked into this store and surprised the employers by playing a riff on an electric guitar to the tune of 'Bésame Mucho." An employer from the store filmed a video of his performance and posted on the store's Facebook page as well in YouTube. The video became viral weeks later and became an online sensation a year later, over 2.2 million views on Facebook, it has gained global attention. Bob Wood proves that no one is ever too old to appreciate music.
