133-foot, 12-story office building completed in 1916. Designed by Schwartz & Gross & B.N. Marcus, it is not to be confused with the taller (21-story) Crystal Building at 801 2nd Avenue, or the similarly named Crystal House and Crystal Pavilion. This building is clad in buff-colored brick above a 3-story stone base. At the first two floors, the end bays project forward as pavilions, framed by 2-story piers with Corinthian capitals all tall granite bases. They support an entablature at the top of the 2nd floor with a double row of dentils, decorative circles, and a cornice. At the ground floor are matching entrances, slightly recessed behind angled borders at the top and sides. The eastern one has metal service doors; the western one has the main entrance with glass doors. Both are topped by a band inscribed with "CRYSTAL BUILDING" and a dentiled cornice. Above there is a balustrade just below the 2nd-floor round-arched openings. Both have a keystone and metal railing and are surrounded by carved panels.
At the middle, the ground floor has modernized storefronts. The 2nd & 3rd floors have brown cast-iron double-pillars dividing three central windows from the outer tripartite windows; the windows on the 2nd floor have transoms. At the end bays of the 3rd floor are square-headed openings, recessed behind metal railings and with stone surrounds. The base is capped by a dentiled cornice at the 3rd floor.
The upper floors also have deeply recessed openings at the end bays, fronted by metal railings. In the middle are three single-windows and two groups of paired windows, all with stone sills. The 10th floor is set off by a string course at the bottom, and cornice at the top, and has panels at the piers. The top two floors have 2-story paneled piers, with Corinthian capitals on the main piers. The facade is capped by a dentiled stone cornice.
The western elevation is clad in dark-brown brick with multiple painted signs at the top. The ground floor is occupied by Alpine Creative Group.
