The Church of St. Paraskeva in Sushitsa, Strazhitsa Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo Province was built in 1874 with donations and voluntary work by the inhabitants of the village. After 102 years, NICC has declared it an architectural and historical monument of local culture. For more than 110 years, the ring of the church bell echoed the village with joyful and sad events, and the temple hosted young and old for the Orthodox feasts, for many weddings and christenings. After the two destructive earthquakes in 1986, the church was seriously damaged and declared uninhabited. Nearly 25 years of Sushitsa people visited the temples in nearby and more remote settlements.
