The old bridge (shown) was the last portion of old US Highway 10 to be completed when it opened in 1922. This bridge was built to last 50 years but finally closed to traffic after 86 years and was demolished on October 29th, 2008. A new 4-lane bridge has been built immediately to the south and is now open. See www.memorialbridge.info for more info.
