Opened in 2007, this hotel operates under the Sheraton name, but it has not been an official part of the Sheraton chain since January 2012, when Starwood Hotels cut the hotel off due to US sanctions. It closed soon after, due to the civil war, but reopened in 2018, still using the Sheraton name illegally, without permission from Sheraton's new owner, Marriott.
