With gift and specialty shops, the Bavarian Village is a true intercultural experience. A unique musical instrument called a Glockenspiel is also a major showcase within the Bavarian Village where stands tall in the village square. Another feature of the Bavarian Village is the free daily reenactments every half hour of the classic tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. This is a fascinating story of a man who played his flute in a way that rid a town of rats, and then put a spell on the children so they couldn't help but follow him. The building on the western (right) end (414 Broadway) which used to house several restaurants in the past, is no longer part of the Bavarian Village. It is now part of the Wizard Quest building (former The Chalet) which opened on December 20, 2021.
