Former Colored School No. 4, later called Grammar School No. 81, is a three-story brick building located at 128 West 17th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Built circa 1870, its design is a rare architectural representation of the Model Primary School House plan that had been adopted in 1844 by the Public School Society (which in 1853 merged with the Board of Education) as part of the city’s ward school system. Alterations were later made in 1935.

The 3-story utility building is clad in beige brick, four bays wide. The ground floor has entrances at both end bays. The upper floors have multi-pane industrial windows, and the facade is topped by a brick parapet.

It is now used by the NYC Department of Sanitation, likely as a section station for having lunch. In 2023, the building was designated a New York City landmark.
