ruined castle, archaeological site

The castle (kale) located atop Kaletepe northeast of Emirgazi in the the Konya province of Turkey is identified as ancient Ardistama or Aristama. Although in ruins and partly overgrown, the castle's defensive perimeter can be traced, and features a gate and a larger rectangular tower near the northeastern end. Most of the visible remains seem to date from the Byzantine period. At the beginning of the 20th century, the ruined castle was called Keçi Kalesi ("goat castle").
