U.S. Government: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration research vessel "Townsend Cromwell" is based at outer end of pier. Concrete-capped concrete pile, concrete-decked wharves along upper and inner ends of slip; fronted by rubber- fender system. One 35-ton, diesel mobile crane with 70-foot boom.
