Like the former Chicks on the bypass, this Stripes has had a torturous history before becoming Stripes, the first convenience store here. It was supposed to be a generic convenience store called "A&M Xpress", whose sign hung for almost a full year before the Stripes sign went up in late July 2015, opening August 2015. The convenience store included a Laredo Taco Company inside. In March 2021, the Stripes converted to a 7-Eleven as part of a buyout a few years prior.
