Base aéronautique navale Hyères - Palyvestre is joint military/civil airfield.
Currently the base hosts:
- Flottilla (Sqn) 31 operating Westland Lynx with detachments at the anti-sub frigates Dupleix, Montcalm, Jean de Vienne, La Motte-Picquet.
- Flottilla 35 operating Dauphin Pedro and Alouette III for airpatrol and SAR deployed at aircraft carriers and 5 Dauphins are deployed at Lanvéoc, La Rochelle, Le Touquet and Cherbourg
- Flottilla 36 operating Tiger light combat helos wit detachments on the frigates La Fayette , Surcouf , Guépratte , Aconit andt Courbet , on the air defence frigates Jean Bart and Cassard and on the general surveillance frigates Germinal, Floréal, Prairial, Nivôse, Vendémiaire and Ventôse .
- Centre d'Entraînement et Instruction (CEI) Training/Instruction Center.
- Centre d'Expérimentation Pratique de l'Aviation Navale 10. Experimental Naval Aviation unit.
- École du Personnel de Pont d'Envol (training school for all fleet personnel aboard aircraftcarriers).
- Customs detachment (F-406, Cessna 404 and Ecureuil).
- a marines infantry security company.
