District in the western part of Vilnius city, known for its multi-storey blocked house urban landscape. The current Lazdynai district was begun to built in the 1960s, it was influenced by Tapiola (Finland), Vallingby (Sweden) and Le Mirail (France) quarters' architecture. Lazdynai district urban project was praised in the Soviet Union and in 1974 it received a prestigious V. Lenin award. Lazdynai is listed in the Register of heritage objects of Lithuania.
