Notes: Section houses were built as on-site residences for railroad workers. This particular section house was originally constructed at mile 119.1 of the Alaska Railroad, about 4.8 miles north of Anchorage. It was moved here to save it from demolition when the land on which it sat was taken for construction of Elmendorf Air Force Base.
