"The Richard St. Barb Baker Afforestation Area was established in 1960 to create a green belt around the city. Trees, which act as habitat for local wildlife, were planted in rows to generate a man-made forest."(World Web.com) A 14.5-acre off-leash park opened in the spring of 2013, south of the railway tracks and adjacent to the city’s new civic operations centre."The new park will be in the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation area south of Montgomery."(CJME) "The Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area south of the CNR station is named in his honour, and his extensive archives are housed at the University of Saskatchewan. In honouring the memory of Richard St Barbe Baker, it is indeed a respectful tribute to erect a trail marker. It would indeed be fitting to take the time to honoour his ideals and legacy by respecting his grove of trees at the Richard St. Barb Baker Afforestation Area which extends east of the 'Southwest off leash dog park.'

“This generation may either be the last to exist in any semblance of a civilised world or that it will be the first to have the vision, the bearing and the greatness to say, ‘I will have nothing to do with this destruction of life, I will play no part in this devastation of the land, I am determined to live and work for peaceful construction for I am morally responsible for the world of today and the generations of tomorrow.’” wrote Richard St Barbe Baker in his book, The New Earth Charter.

Richard St Barbe Baker received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 1971 from the University of Saskatchewan and the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth in 1977. The St. Barbe Grove Nursery initiated in 1987, is located in Western Australia. The World Wildlife Fun made him their first Honorary Life Member in 1989. As well a memorial honouring St. Barbe Baker was erected in the West End of Hampshire in the spring of 2003.

Richard St Barbe Baker founded the Men of the Trees in 1922. The mission of the Men of the Trees is "To bring people together to plant and grow trees, and to achieve healthy, productive, sustainable landscapes. ....[goal] become a leader in environmental education specialising in revegetation, food and community engagement."(Men of the Trees)

“Almost everywhere in the world man has been disregarding the Divine Law and the Laws of Nature, to his own undoing. In his pride, he has rampaged over the stage of the earth, forgetting that he is only one of the players put there to play his part in harmony and oneness with all living things.” wrote Richard St Barbe Baker in his book, “The Divine Law and the Laws of Nature”

At his last tree planting ceremony on the University of Saskatchewan grounds he said the Children of the Green Earth Motto; "
From our hearts/ With our hands/ For the earth/All the world together”.
