Montgomery Place was established in 1946 as part of the Veterans' Land Act settlement plan for veterans returning from World War II. In 1955 it was officially incorporated as part of Saskatoon. The streets here are named after people, places, ships and aircraft related to WWII.
The neighbourhood received designation as a national historic site in 2016. A commemorative plaque was unveiled in 2017.
