This was originally built as McIntosh High School. It was part of the McIntosh School District until 1970 when it became the McIntosh-Winger School District No. 603. It remained the McIntosh-Winger School District until 1986 when they consolidated with Erskine School District to form the Win-E-Mac District No. 2609. Until the building closed in 1998, students in grades K, 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, and 12 attended school in the McIntosh building.
