Dungar cemetery, opened in 1894, enclosed by random coursed wall, with caretaker's lodge and with central path dividing cemetery in two. L-plan lodge to south-west corner with gabled entrance porch

Dungar Cemetery was divided in two to accommodate the grave of both the parishioners of the local Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland churches. North of the central path was reserved for the burial of Roman Catholic while all land to the south of the path was assigned for the burial of those of the Church of Ireland faith. Located on the outskirts of Roscrea, Dungar Cemetery has played an important social role in the community since its establishment in 1894. The cemetery is notable for its well-planned arrangement which included provision for a caretaker's lodge.
