County Clare (Irish: Contae an Chláir) is a county in Ireland, in the Mid-West Region and the province of Munster, bordered on the West by the Atlantic Ocean. There is debate whether it should be historically considered a part of Connacht. Clare County Council is the local authority. The county had a population of 118,817 at the 2016 census. The county town and largest settlement is Ennis.

  • Kilmacduane is a Parish in West Clare which has two villages Cooraclare and Cree. There are a There are six bars in the parish of roughly 1000 people, one florist, one petrol station/shop/hardware store and two churches and equestrian centres. There are three small schools which are generally well run and maintained. The parish has a gaelic football team - Cooraclare CLG and the players are generally of a superior standard than those of the nearby teams of Doonbeg, Kilrush, Kilmurry Ibrickane, Kilmihil and Shannon Gaels. There is also a beautful Hill, known locally as "The Hill" it is situated between both villages where the extraordinary folk who make their home there can keep a watchful eye on the comings and goings beneath them.
