mountain, summit, lookout tower
This mountain stands 5549 feet asl. The peak is the highest point on a north-south trending ridge. Pleistocene glaciers carved a large cirque on the east side of the the mountain; Huckleberry Lake now occupies a basin at the head of the cirque under an imposing andesite cliff. A smaller cirque to the north holds Memaloose Lake. A fire lookout cabin was built on the summit in 1918, and in 1939 the cabin was replaced by a more modern "L-4" lookout. The lookout is well-maintained.
