The Collin County Historical Society was first organized in 1957 by Captain Roy F. Hall. Captain Hall and his wife, Helen, held strong ties to the community and its history nearly 50 years later. Their original organization was formalized in 1984 when the Society received 501(c)3 status as a nationally- recognized not-for-profit organization.
