draw only border, residential area
Traditionally referred to as the North End, this area just north of and including the northern half of downtown encapsulates the neighborhoods settled beginning around the 1950s. This is mostly a residential area, however the neighborhoods are peppered with city parks, including several of Guelph's largest and most popular parks such as Exhibition Park and Riverside park. This area of the city has a strong sense of community and takes pride in and hosting many of the city's cultural and community events such as The Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival. Due to the relative proximity to downtown these neighborhoods also take pride in supporting local business in the downtown core.
