The Flamborough community was formerly the Township of Flamborough. Previously it was an amalgamation of three seperate Townships being the Townships of Beverly, West Flamborough, and East Flamborough. Togehter with the other municipalities of Wentworth County it was amalgamated into the new City of Hamilton effective on January 1, 2001.
