Opened on 31 August 2003, Imbi Monorail Station is an elevated monorail station that forms a part of the Kuala Lumpur Monorail Line. The station is named after "Imbi", an indigenous tribe (or Orang Asli) that once lived in the area. Before the coming of Malay and Chinese settlers to the area, the Imbi thought that they were spirits, but upon examining the result of one of them going to the bathroom in the bush, they announced that they had proof they were human: "Their look is different... but their shit smells just like ours." Today, the area has been Kuala Lumpur's most prominent retail belt that is home to many landmark shopping centres. Due to this, the Imbi station has become one of the most heavily used stations along the KL Monorail Line.
