The main Industrial town in khammam district.Located about 270 km from Hyderabad. Kothagudem is mandal HQ (Mdl code-17) in Khammam Dt, AP. There are 21 villages in this mandal and the villages are:1 Punukuduchelka, 2 Bangaru chelka, 3 Gollagudem, 4 Gattumalla, 5 Regalla, 6 Kunaram, 7 Chata konda (r), 8 Laxmidevipalle, 9 Karukonda, 10 Singabhu palem, 11 Sarvaram, 12 Chunchupalle (u), 13 Kothagudem, 14 Penuballi, 15 Garimella padu (u), 16 Ramavaram, 17 Sujathanagar, 18 Raghava puram, 19 Seethampeta, 20 Gareebpeta, 21 Penagadapa.
Popularly known as the Coal Town, Kothagudem has a well known thermal station.

This place has often remained the hottest place, recording temperatures as high as 51.3C.

  • I am from Ramavaram one of the small town in kothagudem, actually kothagudem is very famous for BLACKGOLD (coal), here we find lot of coal mines (under groud mines and opencast mines) most of the coal will go to KOTHAGUDEM POWER PLANT(which generates power for kothagudem area and some industries)one of the important place is palvoncha, another small town near to kothagudem which contains SPONGE IRON factory and FERRO ALLOY factory.... We find 80% of employees from SINGARENI COAL MINES only And other important area is Bhadrachalam, which our river GODAVARI flows....
  • yes,,,, a small place yet to b known for its huge history. It's said that the bus station of kothagudem is the second built bus station in A.P as far as my knowledge is concerned the huge reputation goes to the only town no wonder!!!We have the famous piligrimage place the Bhadrachalam about 38 kms from Kothagudem but we don't find a rail route to the land ,so to reach through train the Land of Lord Rama one has to first reach Kothagudem(also called The Bhadrachalam Road ).Despite one feels it really sore to know about the place. So i suggest here few comments,with the hope that i can drag people learn more about the place.here's a bright Light on it.

  • kothagudem is commercial of khammam distirct.........the GDP of kothagudem is higher than khammam......... some of the intresting points about kothagudem.......... 1.all india radio in kothagudem is the first radio statio in andhra pradesh. 2.after vijayawada kothagudem is the second town for which have local buses at that time. 3.kothagudem and palvocha twin towns having the highest Auto rickshaw in andhra pradesh.

  • I am v.venu gopal . This is beautiful town and named by coal city. There is very hot but no huminity. There is so many tourism places are available. It is to be very developing city.
